We went to Istanbul to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We've been to Turkey many times but never to this wonderful city. We booked the hotel because of previous positive reviews and also central location in Sultanahmet, close to the Blue Mosque and transport system. The hotel lived up to expectations. We were warmly welcomed on arrival. The room was clean and well appointed with a comfy bed, spa bath and mini bar as you would expect. We ate twice in the hotel at night. Good quality food. The breakfast was an interesting mix of meats, cheeses, olives and my favourite - stuffed vine leaves! The hotel was an excellent base for sightseeing as it was A 5 minute walk to Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace, Archaeological Museum, Basilica Cistern, and Blue Mosque. We spent 3 days walking around and visiting the marvellous sights of this historic city. We are already wanting to return to see some things we didn't have time for. On the birthday itself the staff arranged for a cake to be brought at breakfast which was a touching thought and much appreciated. The evening celebration took place on a dinner cruise on the Bosphorus again with birthday cake which had been arranged by the hotel staff. Magical trip.
This is a great small hotel with very friendly staff. Location is also perfect for tourists and shopping. Have Turkish hammam in the spa. Would love to go back.
This hotel offers great value for money in a prime location near the major attractions in Sultanahmet, Istanbul, without losing any of charm which can be found in this area - much to our surprise, it is not all touristy and there are some interesting walks around down to the seafront and some gear local restaurants. Breakfast was also very good and staff keen to help.
Pros: Clean and neat rooms. Nice breakfast and very humble staff Cons: For us the hotel was near perfection. Location: Very close to blue mosque (5 min walk) and Grand Bazar. Arasta Bazar was just next door. Taxi service to the airport was easily available. Had a home like stay in the hotel. The staff are very cooperative and humble. Always said yes to our demands. Room service was very efficient and quick. Will certainly recommend this hotel for stay in Istanbul.
The receptionist greeted us with a big smile and get directions to walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia so that we could hit the street almost immediately. The map he gave was helpful best day to walk to Spice Market and Hrand Bazaar. I'll show a picture of the Turkish Bath although the jacuzzi tub was enough for me after walking a lot
